The Energy Mix

The Energy Mix is a curated archive of top online content on climate change, energy, and the push for a low-carbon energy future. At least twice a week, we issue an e-digest that brings you the top 12 stories from the dozens of headlines we scan each day. Then we archive and index the stories online, to help you follow all the major pieces of the climate and energy puzzle.

The Back Story
We produce The Energy Mix as a service to the low-carbon community and an experiment for the content marketing community—the two fields where Smarter Shift does most of its work. Many content marketers believe the best online content is short, light, and generic: we keep hearing you can’t go wrong with one more blog post on organizational leadership or emotional intelligence.

We (mostly) disagree.

With The Energy Mix, we’re setting out to prove that detailed, substantive content has a place alongside softer, more broadly-focused material. Actually, to solve the really big problems that matter most, nothing less will do.

So The Energy Mix goes deep on the most important elements of the climate challenge and the solutions that are taking shape, across North America and around the world. Beyond each week’s headlines, the mix of stories and themes is designed for non-specialists outside the energy sector—where many of the most important decisions about our energy use are being made.
