Lauren Bates

Lauren is the Community Manager of the Toronto Sustainability Speakers Series where she coordinates and co-hosts the event Twitter chats and webcasts, and works on sustainability awareness and networking via TSSS’s various social media streams. She holds a BSc.. in Psychology Research from the University of Toronto and a Master’s degree in Environment and Sustainability from Western University, with a background in community -based social marketing, sustainable business, project management, and consulting practices. Her interest in sustainability practices are rooted in an interest in innovation, resiliency, and risk management for businesses, governments and communities. She is also an active volunteer member of Citizen’s Climate Lobby in Toronto, advocating for predictable carbon pricing policies in Canada as Group leader for Davenport riding as well as Research Lead and second in Communications for the Toronto chapter.
