How might the military respond to climate change?
The Age of Consequences explores show the Military might act in a world of accelerating climate change.
Nate graduated from the University of Waterloo in 2014 where he completed a Cooperative Honours Bachelor of Arts & Business program majoring in political science, with a minor in economics, and a specialization in global engagement. Nate was involved with the Climate Action Project which organized a panel of speakers to discuss the future of Ontario’s energy supply. As a co-op student, Nate gained workplace experience at four different workplaces including a tax firm in Calgary, eHealth Ontario, the Tim Hortons Headquarters, and the Ontario Ministry of Finance. In these positions Nate developed skills in writing and presentation, communications, data analysis, project management, and teamwork.
Nate attended the National University of Singapore for an exchange semester in 2013 where he had the opportunity to travel, explore, and adventure through the diverse cultures and natural environments of many countries in the region. The fall after graduating, Nate travelled to British Columbia and the US west coast where he explored natural areas as well as a number of organic farms and sustainable living communities.
In his spare time, Nate enjoys backyard gardening and managing a community garden he started in 2014. Nate started a small business building raised garden beds and hopes to contribute and be part of the urban agriculture revolution. A certification in Permaculture Design complements these activities. In addition to the MScSM program, Nate participates in the UofT350 Fossil Fuel Divestment campaign, writes blogs for a real estate company, and is a communications workgroup member for the Halton Food Council.
