Author Mel Wilson

Mel Wilson

I lead the Sustainable Business Solutions (SBS) practice at both the Alberta and National level. I started with the firm in 1993, left in 2011, and then returned in 2015. The entire time I have been with PwC I have been in the SBS practice and its precursor the Environmental Risk practice. Over the past 20+ years I have worked with countless clients across multiple industries and countries on environmental, health & safety, climate change and corporate responsibility projects. I was heavily involved in the establishment of numerous sustainability services, including environmental management systems auditing, sustainability reporting and assurance, and greenhouse gas verification.

I have authored numerous articles, most notably “Corporate Sustainability: What Is It and Where Does It Come From” published in the Ivey Business Journal in 2003. This paper has been cited in hundreds of subsequent research papers and newspaper articles since 2003.
Over the years I have been involved in numerous not for profit organizations, often serving on the boards of directors. My two particular areas of interest are youth mental health and music.
