Kieran Cooke

Kieran Cooke is a former foreign correspondent for both the BBC and the Financial Times, and continues to contribute to the BBC and a wide range of international newspapers and radio networks. He has been based in Indonesia, Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, Greece and Ireland, and has also served as a press officer at the United Nations in New York.

Although he has reported extensively on economic and business matters, in recent years he has focused on environmental issues and has graduated with distinction from Oxford University in environmental conservation.

He trains and mentors journalists around the world, under the auspices of the UN Environment Programme and other organisations, including an extensive journalists’ training programme in the Himalayan region.

He is a veteran of several environmental expeditions and has spent time in the Arctic and in the Amazon.
